The Canon 6d is my main full-frame camera for use on most of my landscapes and wide angle photos.

The 1.6x crop factor of the Canon 7D makes it more useful for wildlife that is far away.

This is a new lens for me. I chose it for the constant wide ƒ/2.8 aperture, but I didn’t see the need to upgrade to image stabilization for tripod work.

My go-to wide angle lens. Super sharp, with great color.

My newest wildlife lens, for use with the 1.4x teleconverter as well. The TC makes this a 420mm ƒ/5.6 lens, still with IS.

Canon EF 1.4X III Telephoto Extender
The 1.4X telephoto extender adds 1.4 times the focal length to several of Canon’s telephoto lenses, including the 300mm ƒ/4 and the 70-200 ƒ/2.8L lenses. You will lose one stop of light when using this TC.

Lowepro Whistler BP 350 AW Backpack
This backpack from Lowepro will hold just about everything. There is plenty of room for all your cameras and lenses, and any outdoor gear you might need for a day hike. My previous Lowepro backpack is five years old, and still looks new, so I know it’s built tough.
